4. Where your data is stored

Most Petko data is stored locally on your device. This includes pet profiles, health records, reminders, selected images, documents, and certain app preferences.

However, some information may be transferred to third-party providers when you use specific features.

• When you use AI analysis or the AI assistant, prompts, messages, selected images, and relevant context may be sent to an AI service provider
• When you use subscriptions or purchases, purchase-related technical information may be sent to the subscription platform and the relevant app store

5. AI features

Petko uses artificial intelligence for certain features, including:

• Food label analysis
• Stool analysis
• Mood or behavior interpretation
• AI chat assistance
• When you use these features, the text, images, and related contextual data you submit may be sent to third-party AI providers for processing.
• AI features are provided for informational and convenience purposes only. They do not replace veterinary diagnosis, treatment, or emergency medical advice.

Depending on the feature used, Petko may rely on the following third-party services:

• OpenAI, for AI chat, image analysis, and text extraction
• RevenueCat, for subscription and purchase management
• Apple App Store and Google Play, for in-app purchase processing

7. Permissions

Petko may request device permissions to provide certain features:

• Camera: to capture photos for records or analysis
• Photo library or file access: to choose or save images and documents
• Notifications: to send reminders for medications, appointments, vaccinations, and similar events
• Calendar: to sync reminders with your device calendar
• iOS tracking permission: if granted, certain device identifiers may be used for subscription attribution or related technical purposes
• You are not required to grant these permissions, but some features may not work properly without them.

8. Sharing of information

We do not sell your personal information.

• It is necessary to provide a feature you requested
• It is required for technical service providers such as AI processing or subscription management

9. Data retention

Data stored locally on your device may remain until you delete it or uninstall the app. Limited information transferred to third-party providers may be retained according to those providers' own retention practices.

You can remove certain data inside the app, or uninstall the app to remove locally stored information from your device. You may also contact us with deletion requests.

Petko is not directed to children under the age of 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.
